Country of Service & Customs Policy

Our policies for tourism services and customs compliance in Sri Lanka.

At Asia Getaways, we specialize in providing inbound tourism services exclusively within Sri Lanka. All bookings, travel arrangements, and tour operations offered by our company are delivered under the laws, regulations, and policies of the Government of Sri Lanka. This policy outlines the conditions under which our services are rendered, including compliance with local tourism, immigration, and customs regulations.

1. Country of Service

All tourism services provided by Asia Getaways (including accommodation, transfers, excursions, and guided tours) are rendered within the territorial boundaries of Sri Lanka.

Clients booking services with us agree that Sri Lanka shall be considered the sole country of service delivery.

All contracts, terms, and obligations are governed by Sri Lankan law, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

2. Immigration & Entry Regulations

All travelers are required to obtain valid entry visas or Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA) prior to arrival in Sri Lanka.

Passports must remain valid for at least six months from the date of entry.

Asia Getaways may provide general visa guidance but holds no responsibility for the approval, denial, or processing of entry permits by immigration authorities.

Failure to comply with immigration rules may result in denied entry, deportation, or penalties, for which Asia Getaways assumes no liability.

3. Customs Duties & Regulations

Travelers entering or exiting Sri Lanka are subject to Sri Lanka Customs regulations. The following rules generally apply (subject to updates by the Department of Sri Lanka Customs):

Duty-Free Allowance

Personal items and clothing for individual use are allowed.

Duty-free alcohol and tobacco may be carried in limited quantities (as permitted by customs).

Restricted Imports

  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, and narcotics.
  • Certain agricultural products, plants, seeds, or animal products without permits.
  • Cultural artifacts, antiques, or protected wildlife items without approval.

Prohibited Exports

  • Antiques, archeological items, or cultural property without government authorization.
  • Protected fauna, flora, and gems unless licensed.
  • Currency exceeding allowable limits without declaration.

All customs duties, excise taxes, or import/export charges imposed by Sri Lanka Customs are the sole responsibility of the traveler.

4. Asia Getaways’ Responsibilities

We ensure that all services provided (hotels, transfers, tours, and experiences) comply with local laws and licensing requirements in Sri Lanka.

We provide clients with general travel advice and guidance regarding customs and immigration requirements.

We are not responsible for fines, delays, confiscations, or penalties arising from the client’s failure to comply with customs, immigration, or local regulations.

5. Traveler Responsibilities

By booking with Asia Getaways, clients agree to:

  • Comply with Sri Lankan immigration and customs regulations.
  • Declare dutiable or restricted items honestly at ports of entry and exit.
  • Bear full responsibility for the transport of their personal belongings, goods, and souvenirs.
  • Respect Sri Lanka’s cultural, legal, and environmental regulations while traveling.

6. Legal Jurisdiction

All tourism services, bookings, and policies are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.

In the event of disputes, the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
